I offer private tuition on a one-to-one basis from my home studio, or in your own home environment, or at the gym working on your specific needs.  My personal training sessions are available to everyone regardless of shape, size, gender or age.  I can build you your own personal fitness routine based around your short term and long term goals, taking into consideration your -

Weight - Bmi and calorie intake - blood pressure and heart rate checks - eating habits

lifestyle - Body fat % - current fitness level

I will take into consideration whether you wish to incorporate gym work, outdoor work (perhaps training for your first 10k) or if you wish to work from the privacy of your own home or my Studio.

Why should I use a Personal Trainer?

There are many reasons why you may want to use a Personal Trainer - you may wish to train for a specific event or challenge, perhaps you have gained a few unwanted pounds, perhaps you have been training by yourself and are not getting the results you want or you may be recovering from a sports injury and need specific advice and training to aid you recovery.  I can help you achieve your goals and take your training up to the next level of fitness and make sure you get the results you want.  I will motivate you, encourage you and give you that extra push when you are at the point of giving up.  When someone tells me that through our classes, or sessions, they have become not only healthier, less stressed, more grounded and are living a more positive way of thinking and living it is an amazing gift to me.  Seeing a client improve week by week and seeing them push their fitness further than they thought possible gives me a great sense of happiness.

tm badge.jpg Tough Mudders South East Challenge 2012

Tough Mudder events are hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.  With the most innovative courses and half a million inspiring participants.  Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.   www.toughmudder.co.uk

One of my clients has been following my Half Marathon Program (which includes doing a 10k) to get themselves fit for the above event.  It is an extremely tough challenge and they had to be both mentally and physcially fit.  I am pleased to say that they completed the course in a time of 2 hours 9 minutes. Tough Mudder events are not races and the participants face many challenging obstacles along the route, nevertheless it was still a very good time!  My client also had a quick recovery time after the event.

Testimonials

Hi Lucy, I'm happy to say I won't be joining you all tonight as I had a little girl this morning.  Ella Rose was born at 12.46am weighing 6lbs 8ozs.  Thank you for all your help, I do think the yoga made a great difference with our birth.  I managed with yoga moves and breathing, tens machine, water birth and a little gas and air at the end.  I think as she is my second baby my body knew a lot more too.  Please say good luck to all the ladies at yoga and I'll see them at baby groups soon! (Annie, Louth October 2016)

Hi Lucy.  Just thought I would let you know how I got on!!  I saw the midwife on Monday, I was 8 dys late and was there to have a sweep.  This was unsuccessful as she said the baby wasn't low  enough and probably wouldn't do anything so she booked us in for an induction for Friday (yesterday).  I left the room and burst into tears (the sounds of the induction scared the life out of me and it was everything I didn't want to happen for our baby.

That day I went for 3 long walks and went out for a spicy curry!  That night I woke up early hours of Tuesday morning in labout!  I started countying my contractions at 5.30am and I gave birth to a beautiful little girl at 2.10pm that afternoon.  We named her Rosie Neve and she weighed 7lbs 4 ozs.

By the time I got to the hospital around 11am I was 8cm and I managed to push her out with only using gas and air.  I just wanted to thank you so much because I would not of got though it without your help and brilliant classes!!  They got me through it and everything you taught me about breathing worked!  I'm so happy and relieved I got to experience a natural birth as things could of turned out so differently.  Many, many thanks to you.  (Becca, Louth July 2016)

Hi Lucy, Yes I received your DVD thank you.  I am very grateful, I like your yoga exercies alot.  I tried various exercies and I have to say that yours is the best.  And most importantly, that my back is better.  So once again thank you very much Lucy.  (Adzelika, Newmarket, January 2015)

Wishing you all the best for the future.  I'll miss your yoga classes but at least I have your DVD for doing a lesson at home.  Happy to stay on your mailing list.  Thanks for being such a welcoming and inspiring teacher to a yoga novice like myself!  Kind regards. (David, Newmarket. 2014)

Dear Lucy, this is very overdue!  But..... I really want to thank you for all the amazing yoga - it truly helped my birth to be such an enjoyable and calm experience (although I had the odd moment!!!)  I was able to deliver Maisie in the water - pain relief free - and calmly.  This I honestly have to thank you for.  The rotation and dilation was used to the max as was breathing skills.  Thank you Lucy.  I have given your number to a few mums-to-be.

PS.  The midwife came to see me after to say it was one of the nicest births she had helped with and she would be coming to see you when she fell pregnant!  Lots of love xx (L & M, Newmarket: 2013)

Hi Lucy, just thought I would drop you a line of thanks.  I may not be as supple as some of your group but I am trying really hard.  I know I have been trying because so far a day after my sides hurt/ache, my thighs and calves are the same.  I am not complaining - just saying thanks and I am going to keep trying.  See you next week.  (SM, Newmarket.  16.08.2013)

I have recommended Lucy's pre natal classes to every pregnant lady I know.  The classes were really relaxing and enjoyable but more importantly my birth experience was amazing.  After a scary, painful first delivery I went through my second pregnancy dreading the end!  Using the breathing techniques and positions I learnt from Lucy I gave birth only needing paracetamol for the pain.  It felt completely natural and as if I was in control this time.  A big thank you Lucy x (AM, Newmarket 19.07.2013)

Yes, we will be there (power yoga classes), Sandra really loved it.  While you were away (maternity leave) we went to a couple of other classes which did put her off but I just kept saying "wait till Lucy comes back, that's where we need to go".  Great to see so many people at the classes to!  We will definately be block booking.  (J, Newmarket.  July 2013)

I have attended Lucy's Power Yoga classes both in the UK and Dubai and enjoyed them very much.  She is an excellent teacher and it is obvious that she enjoys teaching and helping her students master the poses.  However, because I am not local to Dubai or Newmarket it was difficult for me to attend her classes on a regular basis. You can imagine how pleased and happy I was when she produced her DVD.  Perfect!  Lucy explains every pose to you and it is easy to follow and even if you were new to Power Yoga you would have no problem following it.  On the other hand, if you are an experienced yogi you would still find it very challenging.  I still attend her classes when I can but in the meantime the DVD is a very good substitute!  Highly recommended.  Lynne, UK (August 2012)

I am new to Power Yoga.  A friend introduced me about three months ago, now I have the yoga bug!  I find yoga has really worked for me and after each session I feel energised and really good.  I recently bought Lucy's DVD to use at home.  At first it felt a bit strange but I now use it twice a week as well as going to a session once a week to.  I found the DVD easy to use and well planned out, it is challenging and you have different levels in each position to help you find your own limits.  The work out is suitable for everyone no matter what level you are and runs at a good pace and is easy to folllow.  I am really benefitting from using the DVD and feel really good and can see the results, even my friends are commenting.  I am definately going to keep using the DVD.  A massive thank you to Lucy for making the DVD and helping me feel healthier x Tracy, Newmarket (06.08.2012)

I cannot sing Lucy's praises highly enough for how she helped turn my life around.  After the birth of my daughter I suffered post natal depression.  Although this is something I had no control over, other factors such as my excess weight and self confidence, I did have.  A mix of advice on my diet and her amazing yoga and lots of "chats" turned my life around.  I had used anti-depressants in the past but found they made me "zone out" of the world but never solved the reasons......YOGA DOES!!  Lucy has an amazing gift of making people feel at ease and getting the best out of them.  She will always go the extra for you and is a wealth of information and inspiration.  Lucy...... thank you so much from the bottom of my heart xxx CO, Newmarket (16.05.2012)

Since I started my Program with Lucy my weight has dropped to a very good weight, and also levelled out, all my life it has gone up and down erratically.  I am now never hungry and feel so much better, fitter and full of life.  My Program was designed with my personal goals in mind which was:  short term 10k, mid term Half Marathon, long term London Marathon.  I have currently just ran my first 10k in a respectable 48 minutes, finishing 89th out of 408 runners!  I have had a few issues to deal with in getting this far, my motivation was so low and I never actually believed I could do it, but Lucy turned it around for me.  Her encouragement and support somehow managed to push me through.  I now enjoy exercise and cannot wait for the Southend Half Marathon on 10th June.  NF, Newmarket (05.04.2012)

Hello Lucy, Hope all is well at your end, as it is at mine.  You will be happy to know that I am continuing doing Yoga on my own, I was so looking forward to seeing you in Dubai and was very disappointed and sad to learn that you will not be coming back.  I am however very pleased that you are doing what you love the most, that is giving yoga lessons.  I am very grateful to have had you as my personal yoga instructor and a good friend.  Since we started our sessions I have become more focused and disciplined both physically and mentally.  You have installed a lot of confidence in me and with time I was able to perform yoga poses that I thought were too difficult.  Once we have had routine sessions my knees and back got stronger, which is unbelievable as after my third pregnancy I had totally given up on my body.  You have helped get me and my body get on track.  Thanks to you I have also started weight training - don't look so shocked.... you made it happen!!  I am very sure you will find lots of ladies like myself to help and they will be everso lucky to have you.  All the very best in your future endeavours.  Your faithful student Aziza, Dubai (05.01.2012)

I was given Lucy's contact details regarding a fitness and motivation program as I was looking to improve my cycling performance but lacked the motivation to do more than what I already do.  Lucy prepared a program based on my lifestyle and the amount of time I have to complete training, etc.  The results are fantastic with steady weight loss but with no loss of power and I manage the exercises and training in all weathers.... nothing holds me back.  I am looking forward to seeing how I have improved when my first assessment is completed. Overall I am extremely happy with where I am now and things can only get better.  NT, Yorkshire (31.12.2011)

I first met Lucy at her Power Yoga class in Dubai.  She is an amazing teacher and her classes really are a cut above everyone else's.  Not only does she teach you poses that you can practise at home but she is always around at the end of a class for any questions that you may have.  Her classes are inspirational and you feel so at ease thanks to her warm personality. Nicola, Dubai (November 2011)

Between 2007-2009 I suffered from a serious illness and although I fully recovered from this I could not reach the level of fitness I had enjoyed prior to being ill.  Each time I tried I got knocked back by injury which eventually resulted in low self esteem, weight gain and lack of confidence.  Lucy built me a gentle exercise programme, increasing the frequency, intensity and duration each week.  By my Week 5 Assessment I had doubled my fitness level and lost 4 kgs in weight!  I learnt the importance of warm ups and cool downs before and after exercise and have remained injury free.  I am now well on my way to achieving my long term goal of participating in a 10K Charity Run.  Having Lucy as my Personal Trainer has kept me motivated throughout and is the best thing I have ever undertaken!  LT, Lincolnshire (September 2011)
